On Sunday 14th September, The Publics laced up their trainers and hit the streets for the Mansfield 10K, not just for the challenge, but to make a difference.
Why We Ran
Over the last couple of years we have built a loud and loyal local community who have propelled us to performances at major festivals and shows with high-profile artists across the UK.
Our journey started back at school when our French teacher, Mr Guillaud provided us with his own personal drum kit and amplifiers so that we could begin gigging. Without his generosity we would never have gone on to create the memories and friends that we have.
This year we wanted to pass this gesture on to our local community and help inspire the next wave of students to pick up an instrument for the first time and follow in our footsteps.
The Result
Over £450 has been raised so far thanks to numerous generous donations! In two weeks time we'll be heading out again for the Robin Hood Half-Marathon with the hopes of raising £1,000 by the end of the year.
