The Publics release debut EP, I Know the World Stopped, but Why Did You?

Mansfield based noise makers The Publics have stamped their mark on 2024 with the release of their debut EP ‘I Know The World Stopped, but Why Did You?’ on 20/09/24. The project focuses on the telling of grounded ‘small-town’ stories, at a stadium-worthy level of punch and compellingness. Pulling from the indie sound of the 2010’s and infused with cinematic atmosphere, the EP is set to amplify the bands’ reach across and beyond the UK.

Vinyl Record

The EP is currently available for purchase on 12" vinyl for just £20 per unit, with only 300 limited stock units in circulation. This limited availability adds an exclusive allure to the vinyl release, making it a coveted item for music enthusiasts and collectors alike.

peaking about the EP, the band explain, “Most of our songs are written as character studies based on either people we've met or from stories that our friends have shared about people they know. ‘Relatability’ is a huge factor in people connecting with a song and we don’t feel as though we've lived very ‘relatable’ lives. By telling others’ stories our songs' cover a range of topics, It also means that when we do write personal songs, such as I Know the World Stopped, but Why Did You? and Murphy's Law, they tend to have that extra kick to them!”

Pushing indie rock to its heaviest limits, the northern powerhouse are showing no signs of slowing down as they keep the momentum pumping after a string of singles already this year.
